Secretary-General: Azerbaijan is one of leading countries in TURKSOY

"Azerbaijan is one of the leading countries in TURKSOY and makes an outstanding contribution to the organization," Secretary-General of TURKSOY Dusen Kasseinov told Report.

"Azerbaijan occupies a special place and is greatly important in the Turkic world," Kasseinov noted.

According to him, the organization closely cooperates with the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan and intends to continue doing so.

"Annually, we announce the Year of some well-known Azerbaijani cultural figures. We show their creative heritage, their works to the whole world," Kasseinov said.

TURKSOY declared 2017 the year of Molla Panah Vagif and held a series of events in this regard, in 2018 it dedicated events to the outstanding Azerbaijani composer Gara Garaev, 2019 was declared the "Year of Imadaddin Nasimi", and this year TURKSOY will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijani composer Fikrat Amirov.
