The recent clashes showed the ineffectiveness of the European observers stationed in Armenia, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing, Report informs.

She called on the parties to refrain from actions that could cause tension.

Zakharova said that the delimitation and demarcation of the border with the help of Russia, confidence-building measures, and deployment of the CSTO mission in the region are ways to prevent escalation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
