Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation, Rahman Mustafayev, the Russian MFA said in a statement, Report informs.
"The Russian foreign minister cordially welcomed the head of the diplomatic mission of the friendly state - our country's strategic partner and ally, and wished him success in his activities," the ministry said.
Mustafayev also met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Galuzin, and presented a copy of his credentials. During the conversation, it was noted that Russian-Azerbaijani relations are developing progressively, and some current topics of the bilateral agenda were discussed. The schedule of interstate contacts for the coming days was reviewed.
