Resident Coordinator: UN supports Azerbaijan in achieving Sustainable Development Goals

The UN supports Azerbaijan in its efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Vladanka Andreeva said at the FAO regional seminar in Baku, according to Report.

She noted that Azerbaijan needs strong institutions for comprehensive inclusive development, and the UN, in turn, supports the country's efforts in this direction.

According to her, achieving the SDGs is important, including in the field of food security.

Food insecurity is growing in the world, the pandemic has accelerated hunger, and global supply chains have been interrupted as a result of the war in Ukraine, Andreeva said, adding that on average, one in three people around the world are not getting enough normal food. She urged to join efforts to change the situation in a positive direction.
