The volume of trade and the volume of investments between Russia and Azerbaijan are on the rise, President of Russia Vladimir Putin said at the meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the sidelines of the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Samarkand, according to Report.
"We have exchanged views on the bilateral relations and the situation in the region," the Russian leader said, adding that the cooperation between the two countries continues through ministries, departments and parliaments.
Vladimir Putin also touched upon the tensions on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border.
"It's good that the escalation was stopped by coordinated efforts. I am very glad to have the opportunity to meet with you and talk about all these important issues," Vladimir Putin added.
