Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed gratitude to his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev for the attention given to the Russian language in Azerbaijan.
According to Report, during a joint press statement following their talks, the Russian leader highlighted the widespread and free use of the Russian language in the country.
"In Azerbaijan, the Russian language is used everywhere and freely. We feel that this trend is fully supported by the leadership of the Republic of Azerbaijan," Putin stated, "Ilham Heydarovich, we are grateful to you for this attention to the Russian language."
