Strengthening logistical ties between the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan is a great need for both sides, Uzbek political scientist Rafael Sattarov told Report.
According to Sattarov, the potential of relations between Tashkent and Baku is concentrated in all aspects of cooperation: culture, education, healthcare, logistics, food security.
"The Uzbek leadership has a long-standing desire to access the world's oceans and is making significant efforts in transport projects with countries such as Afghanistan, Iran, and Pakistan," he said.
The political scientist stressed that it is much more efficient to develop logistics through Azerbaijan and Georgia, and from there to go to Turkish ports in the Mediterranean.
"Despite the colossal difficulties, it is much more profitable to develop nodes along the Caspian than in the southern direction," Sattarov added.
