Political scientist: Muslims & those who criticize Islamophobia treated with hatred in France

Not only Muslims are treated with hatred in France, but also those who criticize the situation with Islamophobia in this country, French political scientist and Arabist, Research Fellow at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) Francois Burgat told Report.

“When I am in France, also in social networks, I see a huge wave of hatred not only for Muslims but also for those who criticize Islamophobia,” he said.

The political scientist noted that during the French Revolution, the inhabitants of the country fought against the power of the church: “Therefore, in France, you cannot publicly show your religious affiliation, you cannot wear anything indicating which faith you belong to.”

He added that those peoples whose countries were once a colony of France today want to tell the world the truth about what happened to them, but the French themselves are against it.
