Political pundit: "Azerbaijan is an important regional partner for US"

US President Joseph Biden's congratulations to President Ilham Aliyev are an appreciation of the high level of cooperation between the two countries and underscore the role of official Baku in regional politics, a political pundit Ilgar Valizade told Report.

He also said that it reflects Washington's intention to contribute to regional peace in the context of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the signing of a peace agreement: "We can say with confidence that world leaders accept the reality of the post-war period and express their support for the implementation of long-term plans for peace in the region."

According to him, bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and the US is developing on several different aspects, including dialogue in energy and regional security: "In order to establish a successful dialogue in all these areas, peace, stability, and predictability must be ensured in the region. In this regard, the United States is ready to support Azerbaijan and Armenia in terms of signing a peace agreement that will end the long-running conflict. "

Valizade stressed that the US is interested in this issue as Azerbaijan is an important regional partner for the West.

"Moreover, significant transport and energy projects are implemented in the region. These projects are actual amid the international turbulence," he added.
