OSCE election observation mission hopes for productive partnership with Azerbaijan's CEC

The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) is hopeful for a productive collaboration with Azerbaijan's Central Election Commission (CEC) over the coming weeks, Ditmir Bushati, the head of the OSCE ODIHR election observation mission, said at a press conference in Baku.

According to Report, Bushati emphasized that the mission has already conducted meetings with Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the CEC.

He noted, "ODIHR has carried out election observation missions in Azerbaijan 13 times to date. The most recent monitoring took place during the snap presidential elections in February."

The mission head underscored that the election monitoring will be carried out in accordance with established principles. He concluded, "Following the completion of the electoral process, the final report of the observation mission will be published within a few months, in which we will also present our recommendations. The observations will be conducted transparently."

Azerbaijan is set to hold snap parliamentary elections on September 1.
