Omer Celik: Gas flow from Azerbaijan helps Syria restore basic services and social life

The supply of Azerbaijani gas to Syria through Türkiye is extremely important in terms of restoring the destroyed infrastructure and social life of the Arab republic, the spokesperson of Türkiye's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) Omer Celik said at a press conference, Report informs.
Omer Celik emphasized that Türkiye has become a center of energy diplomacy, noting that this step will contribute to ensuring stability in the region.
The gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Syria began on August 2. At the first stage of the project, it is planned to export 1.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Syria per year. The gas will be delivered to power plants in Aleppo and Homs and used for electricity generation.
