The ninth meeting of the High-Level Working Group on Caspian Sea Issues was held in Astana on October 22-23, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The delegations from the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, and Turkmenistan participated in the negotiations.
The meeting was chaired by Zulfiya Amanzholova, the head of the Kazakh delegation.
The parties continued discussions on the methodology for drawing straight baselines in the Caspian Sea.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed cooperation in the Caspian Sea, discussed preparations for the next meeting of the foreign ministers of the Caspian littoral states in Turkmenistan, as well as the progress of negotiations on five-party draft documents.
The delegations expressed their gratitude to the Republic of Kazakhstan for the high-level organization of the meeting.
