Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received the newly appointed ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Azerbaijan, Maksat Mamitkanov, Report informs with reference to the Azerbaijani MFA.

During the meeting, the ambassador submitted a copy of his credentials to Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

The minister congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success during his tenure.

The parties exchanged views on various aspects of the bilateral cooperation agenda, including the strengthening of cooperation in the political, economic, transport, humanitarian, and cultural areas, as well as the implementation of joint projects.

Azerbaijani FM talked about friendly relations between countries based on ethnic, cultural and religious bonds that have existed for centuries. He underlined the prospects for the development of these ties.

The sides stressed that further developing contacts and mutual visits between the leaders of both countries are significant for raising the relations between the two countries to the level of strategic partnership.

Moreover, satisfaction was expressed with the development of cooperation between the countries on multilateral platforms, especially in the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), United Nations Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA), Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other regional organizations.

The parties also pointed out the existence of broad perspectives of cooperation within the framework of the OTS, as well as the importance of intensive contacts between the OTS member states to use the existing potential.

In this context, it was expressed with confidence that the extraordinary summit meeting of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) scheduled for July 2024 in Shusha city, as well as the official summit planned for October 2024 in Bishkek, will contribute to the development of the Organization.

During the meeting, it was noted that there are wide opportunities for cooperation within the framework of the COP29 to be held in Baku on November of this year.

The side noted the support of Kyrgyzstan to the peace and reconstruction process is admirable, as well as the high school founded in Khidirli village of Aghdam district, Azerbaijan on the initiative of the Kyrgyz Republic is a clear example of this support.

In particular, Ambassador Maksat Mamitkanov emphasized his commitment to enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries
