MP: Erdogan’s victory guarantees Türkiye to remain geopolitical power

The victory of Recep Tayyip Erdogan is a guarantee that Türkiye will remain a geopolitically strong and united country, Azerbaijani MP Elnur Allahverdiyev said in an interview with Report.

He noted that the victory of Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the presidential elections in Türkiye is also a victory for the Azerbaijani people: “We have witnessed how our people watched the election process with excitement. Of course, the will of the fraternal Turkish people, any of their choices will be accepted by us. But it is very important that the foreign policy of the fraternal state be aimed at close integration with the Turkic world, in particular, with Azerbaijan. Erdogan successfully pursued this course and will continue it.”

The deputy noted that Türkiye and Azerbaijan are the initiators and executors of very important transnational economic projects: “Now this process will continue on a wider scale, more intensively. The leader of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, sincerely believed that the elections would end with such a result, and this victory once again showed that our state, as always, correctly identified priorities in the name of the well-being and security of our people. The Turkish-Azerbaijani unity is the leading force of the Turkic world, its center. From this point of view, any small change in relation to this course in Türkiye, of course, could also manifest itself from the negative side in this geopolitical configuration.”
