Russia is Azerbaijan’s strategic partner, Azerbaijani MP Nizami Safarov said during the round table “Russia-Azerbaijan in the new system of regional security and economic cooperation. Results of the year and prospects,” Report informs.
He reminded that Russia took the lead in resolving the conflict and ending hostilities during the 44-day Patriotic War.
“Our relations are based on a number of fundamental areas of cooperation. Azerbaijan aims to resolve post-conflict issues, such as delimitation and demarcation of borders, demining the liberated territories and signing a peace treaty with Armenia,” the MP said.
