The ministerial meeting of the 3+3 regional platform has commenced in Istanbul, Türkiye.
According to Report, the gathering brings together foreign ministers from six countries in the region, with Azerbaijan represented by Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, who joins his counterparts from Türkiye (Hakan Fidan), Russia (Sergey Lavrov), Iran (Abbas Araghchi), and Armenia (Ararat Mirzoyan). The notable absence is Georgia, which has declined to participate in this format of negotiations.
The 3+3 platform, an initiative spearheaded by the presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey, seeks to promote regional collaboration and stability. The first deputy foreign ministers' meeting took place in Moscow in 2021, followed by a ministerial-level meeting in Tehran in 2023.
