Miller: US concerned about situation on conditional Azerbaijani-Armenian border

The United States remains concerned about the situation on the conditional Azerbaijani-Armenian border, spokesman for the US Department of State Matthew Miller told a regular briefing, according to Report.

"We remain concerned about the situation. And we continue to urge the two parties to work together to bridge the remaining differences," Miller said.

"Speaking broadly, I will say – as you know, as we spoke to yesterday, we do believe that an agreement is still within reach and we look forward to convening the two parties to move forward," he noted.

Notably, on June 15 at around 08:00, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, once again, while carrying out their terrorist-diversion-provocative acts, opened fire from firearms of various calibers on the servicemen of the State Border Service who were on duty in the area and stationed at the border control point 'Lachin' located at the starting point of the Lachin-Khankandi road. As a result, ensign, Sergeant Elshan Rustamov, sustained a gunshot wound.

"The enemy firing point was suppressed by retaliatory fire, the operational situation is under the control of our units," the press center of Azerbaijan's State Border Service noted.

It added that the wounded soldier was provided with first aid, there is no threat to his life.
