The father of French citizen Martin Ryan, accused of espionage, confirmed that the two diplomats with whom his son met were agents of the French intelligence services, Report informs referring to Agence France-Presse (AFP).
The trial of the French businessman was supposed to begin in Baku last Thursday. However, the trial date was postponed and the investigation was extended, AFP reported.

“Our son, who I spoke to on the phone this morning, insists on the guilt of the DGSE (French foreign intelligence) officers who compromised him without Martin’s knowledge,” Richard Ryan told AFP.
On December 4, the general director of Merkorama LLC, Martin Ryan, was arrested in Baku on charges of espionage. He was recruited by two French foreign intelligence agents, officially listed as French employees, who were subsequently expelled from Baku.
