Georgia is following the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia with great interest and is ready to provide a platform for this, former President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili told Report.
“I hope that the process is moving towards stabilizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Azerbaijan is a strategic partner of Georgia, Armenia is also close to us. Therefore, Georgia is interested in providing a platform for discussing the best for the region. This is especially important given that the OSCE Minsk Group no longer exists,” Margvelashvili said.
“Over the years, the Baku forum has become a very useful platform to test our approaches, share knowledge and learn from the experience of various countries,” the former president of Georgia said, adding that this event was well organized in terms of content, logistics and participants.
“I want to thank President Ilham Aliyev for organizing this forum,” he added.
Margvelashvili noted that as part of the forum he also intends to talk about the events taking place in Georgia. “Today there is a very serious destabilization in Georgia, because the government has actually changed its course towards Russia and the Kremlin. The society is against this,” he said.
