Jeyhun Bayramov meets his Tajik counterpart

Within the framework of his participation in the meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers in Dushanbe, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan (MFA) Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin, MFA told Report.

The Tajik FM stressed the importance of developing relations with Azerbaijan and taking steps to strengthen bilateral ties. Noting the vital role of mutual visits in this regard, Minister Muhriddin referred to the recent visit of the Speaker of the Upper Chamber of the Supreme Assembly of Tajikistan to Azerbaijan.

Congratulating the other side on hosting the meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers at a high level, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said that this conference created favourable conditions for the discussion of many issues on the agenda between the member countries.

Jeyhun Bayramov noted that the political dialogue between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan is at a high level and Azerbaijan values the development of bilateral relations with the friendly country of Tajikistan.

The ministers exchanged views on the upcoming celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the continuation of consultations between the foreign ministries, as well as the prospects for the development of economic and trade ties, including the next meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Tajikistan and other issues.

The meeting also discussed issues of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries within international organizations.
