Jeyhun Bayramov: Armenia was engaged in imitating talks for 30 years

The Shusha operation in the Patriotic War made Armenia's defeat inevitable, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at the event dedicated to November 8 - Victory Day, according to Report.

"The tripartite statement signed on November 10, 2020, is the confirmation and proof of the victory won on the battlefield," he said.

According to him, holidays in Azerbaijan have been celebrated with completely different feelings for two years:

"Two years ago, the people of Azerbaijan united closely around President Ilham Aliyev, and our lands were liberated from occupation. Since the end of the 1980s, Armenia has made a territorial claim against Azerbaijan, so 20% of our land was occupied. The four resolutions of the UN Security Council and the decisions and resolutions of a number of international organizations were adopted during the historical period of almost 30 years.

"Despite all this, Armenia continued the policy of occupation, and Yerevan implemented the illegal settlement policy. Armenia was also engaged in the simulation of negotiations. For nearly 30 years, the Azerbaijani side has been committed to resolving the issue peacefully. Adoption of an aggressive doctrine in Armenia, the military provocation in July 2020 actually made the liberation of our lands by military and political means necessary. On September 27, 2020, the Azerbaijani Army carried out a counteroffensive in response to the provocations of Armenia. This operation was carried out in the territory of Azerbaijan."
