The Italian Embassy is aware of delays in issuing visas, Italian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Luca Di Gianfrancesco said, Report informs.
“We are aware of this issue and are working on it both in Rome and here equally. We are finding out the essence of the issue in search of a better solution,” the diplomat told reporters.
He noted that the increase in applications from Azerbaijan for visas to Italy is gratifying, as this is evidence of growing interest in the country.
“However, we are unhappy that a lot of time is spent waiting for visas. But these are the standards of the European Union, not the national level, and we cannot do anything,” said the ambassador.
