"The new opportunities connected with the latest situation in the region, of course, open wide doors for private investors and for governmental structures to cooperate. The new transportation connections are now in the phase of discussion. Our cooperation on the Khudafarin water reservoir and future plans for constructing a power station is already in a very active phase," President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said as he met the Foreign Minister of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif on January 25, Report informs.
"Hopefully, we will complete this project entirely in a coming couple of years and ensure both sides with new power generation. And the project we also agreed on several years ago on the high-level Ordubad-Maraza power station also proceeds successfully. So, we have a broad agenda of issues, not to mention the new bridge across the river, for which a groundbreaking ceremony will hopefully be held soon, and many other issues.
"So, we have many things to discuss, and first, I want to express my high appreciation of our bilateral relations, their level, speed of development and achievements, and new plans. Of course, we will be pleased to see companies from Iran among the companies who will reconstruct the liberated areas. That will be natural. Because as I said, only friendly countries will be our partners. Iranian companies have an advantage because of the proximity, logistics, and great experience. So, Mr. Minister, welcome once again," the head of the state noted.
