Honduras' first female president: "We are interested in strengthening cooperation with Azerbaijan"

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Honduras Mammad Talibov took part in the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected President of Honduras Xiomara Castro, Report informs referring to the Azerbaijani Embassy in Mexico.

During the reception for heads of diplomatic missions accredited in the Central American country, Mammad Talibov conveyed congratulations and sincere greetings of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Xiomara Castro, First Lady of Honduras, on this historic day for the people of Honduras. Expressing gratitude, the Honduran President asked the ambassador to convey her deep respect and best wishes to President Ilham Aliyev.

Xiomara Castro stated that the Honduran government is interested in further strengthening cooperation between Tegucigalpa and Baku.

The potential for deepening bilateral relations was discussed during a brief conversation between the new Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Honduras, Eduardo Enrique Reina, and Ambassador Mammad Talibov.
