Hikmat Hajiyev: Shusha is now on path of recovery

Azerbaijan’s main tasks today is adherence to the principles of international law, peacebuilding, and further development of this region, Report informs, citing Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev as telling an event in Shusha dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the partnership between Azerbaijan and the UN.

"Today we are here in the pearl of Azerbaijan - in Shusha. Shusha is now on the path of restoration. From the first day when Azerbaijan joined the UN, it has adhered to the principles of international law and its basic principles. Topics such as stability, peace and security are always on the agenda of our country at the global level," Hajiyev said.

The presidential aide recalled that starting from 2020, Azerbaijan had to "fight on two fronts" - on the battlefield with Armenia and with the COVID-19 pandemic.

"During this difficult time, we have closely cooperated with the WHO. I believe in a bright future in our relations with the UN," Hikmat Hajiyev added.

He also noted Azerbaijan’s role in peacekeeping operations, including in Afghanistan and others.
