Azerbaijan wants Karabakh to become as prosperous and, above all, peaceful as it was 30 years ago, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev told Agence France-Presse, Report informs.

Answering the question about residents of Armenian origin leaving the region, the presidential aide stressed that the wording “ethnic cleansing” is unacceptable and noted that the departure is voluntary.

“We know that the Armenians and the international media are saying that we intend to arrest all the soldiers. If they surrender their weapons, they will be free and can leave for Armenia,” Hikmat Hajiyev added.
