Hikmat Hajiyev: Amendments to Armenian constitution are necessary to ensure regional peace

Amendments to the Armenian constitution are necessary to ensure peace in the region, Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, said at the XII Global Baku Forum, Report informs.

According to Hajiyev, the war crimes and other acts against humanity committed by Armenia against Azerbaijan during the occupation are not facts that should be forgotten:

"As Mr. President noted in his speech today, territorial claims against Azerbaijan in the Armenian constitution are still ongoing. Hence, there are articles in the Armenian constitution that need to be changed. This should ultimately provide the basis and foundation for lasting peace in the region. Because changing the constitution of countries in resolving conflicts in interstate relations is not the first time."
