On June 30, France's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan Anne Boillon was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s MFA.
At the meeting, the Azerbaijani side protested the remarks of French President Emmanuel Macron against Azerbaijan, which unilaterally defended Armenia and did not reflect the truth, asking for an explanation from the French side.
The ambassador was told that Macron, who was remembered for his anti-Azerbaijani statements many times, voiced biased remarks again, which is a clear example of the fact that the French president is a tool in the hands of the French Armenian lobby and that he could not achieve his goals in the war and post-war period.
It was emphasized that against the backlash of Armenia's support for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and the recognition of the Karabakh region as an integral part of Azerbaijan, such biased statements disseminated with reference to Macron hinder the peace establishment process and tranquility in the region, and further facilitate the expansion of the destructive activities of those who encourage and support separatism and terrorism.
