Foreign Ministry: Azerbaijan never targeted civilians

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan once again voiced the absurd speculation that Azerbaijan intends to commit an act of ethnic cleansing and “genocide”, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Aykhan Hajizada said, commenting on the words of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government meeting, Report informs.

“Throughout its history, in response to the massacres committed by Armenia against Azerbaijanis, Azerbaijan has never targeted the civilian population. Armenia’s policy and actions to carry out terror and massacres are documented in history, and the denial of this proves that Armenia didn’t refuse from such actions,” said Hajizade.

He added that the provocative statements of the Armenian side testify to the desire of Armenia to deliberately disrupt the peace process in the context of the revival of international efforts to establish peace in the region, and such steps must be resolutely stopped.
