National leader Heydar Aliyev played an important role in the development of Azerbaijani-Uzbek relations, leading adviser of the Center for Analysis of International Relations Nagi Ahmadov said at a round table on the topic “Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan: new horizons of cooperation” in Baku, Report informs.
He noted that the development of relations with the countries of Central Asia was of no small importance in Heydar Aliyev’s foreign policy vision. In addition, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have common roots, language and values, which are a solid basis for the development of bilateral cooperation.
“Azerbaijan is a window to the West for Uzbekistan. Therefore, the countries are also involved in transport and logistics projects,” Ahmadov said.
