The war in Ukraine is the most difficult challenge for Europe since World War II, former President of Bulgaria Petar Stoyanov said at a panel discussion at the Xl Global Baku Forum on the topic “Fixing the Fractured World,” Report informs.
“In fact, Russia plays an important role in European culture. Let’s just remember Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Tchaikovsky and others. And the question arises: how could Russia give the world such a rich culture, but was never able to build a democratic and free society?” he said.
According to the ex-president, today many European countries are wondering how the war in Ukraine will end.
