Event on Victory Day held in Washington

The Embassy of Azerbaijan in the United States organized an event on November 8 - Victory Day in Washington, Report informs.
The event was attended by the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Assistant to the First Vice-President Elchin Amirbayov, Azerbaijani Ambassador to the US Khazar Ibrahimov, Turkish Ambassador to the US Hasan Murat Mercan, foreign diplomats and military attachés, representatives of US think tanks and activists of the Azerbaijani community in the US.
At the event, the national anthems of Azerbaijan and the United States were played first, and footage about the historical victory of Azerbaijan was shown.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said that the people of Azerbaijan, who have come out of severe trials throughout history, have always demonstrated unity and equality in order to protect their existence and territorial integrity.
The minister emphasized that under the leadership of Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Army made history by liberating the lands in the 44-day Patriotic War after 30 years of occupation.
In the artistic part of the event, Azerbaijani music was played by Azerbaijani jazzman, pianist, and Honored Artist Emil Afrasiyab and his wife, musician Leyla Babayeva.
