European Court of Human Rights announces 2017 statistics on Azerbaijan

Baku. 25 January. REPORT.AZ/ Last year the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) adopted 97 decisions on Azerbaijan.

Report informs, says the ECHR's Overview of the Court’s statistics in 2017.

According to report, last year, 679 applications were submitted by Azerbaijan to ECHR. 210 of which were struck out, judgment delivered on 97 cases.

Compared with 2016, number of appeals to the ECHR regarding Azerbaijan increased. For comparison, in 2016 year, 331 applications regarding Azerbaijan welcomed for reflection, 136 of them were rejected, and ECHR delivered judgments on 50.

168 applications communicated to the Azerbaijani Government in 2017.

Azerbaijan joined the European Convention on Human Rights in January 2001. The first case was considered in 2006.
