The EU and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) continue discussions to support the development of a social entrepreneurship program in Azerbaijan, Report informs.
On April 12, the event, which was attended by UNDP Chargé d'Affaires in Azerbaijan Sukhrob Khojimatov and international expert in the field of social entrepreneurship Lana Lovasic, discussed the main challenges and solutions to problems related to social entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan.
Khojimatov, in his opening speech, emphasized the valuable role of social entrepreneurship in solving socio-economic problems, as well as in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
“I am very happy to be part of this project, we want to help the unemployed and people with disabilities. It is very important to take into account the SDGs, without them it is difficult to achieve success. In fulfilling these goals, the participation of the state, society and private business is important. For inclusive development, certain resources are needed to ensure long-term development,” he said.
He added that the UNDP is ready to continue supporting social entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan, discussing issues that will improve the living standards of people in the country.
Expert Lana Lovasic, in turn, noted that the event is aimed at hearing the point of view of the entrepreneurs themselves: “We must create a process where everyone can participate, we will use SWOT analysis to fully understand their problems.”
