Baku. 18 October. REPORT.AZ/ The European Union commends the steps taken by Azerbaijan in the fight against human trafficking, head of the European Union Office in Azerbaijan, Ambassador Kestutis Jankauskas said.
Report informs that the EU representative in the country was speaking at an event dedicated to the EU Anti-Trafficking Day.
He noted that the country should move further in this direction.
"We highly appreciate the steps taken by Azerbaijan in the fight against human trafficking. Much has been done at the legislative level. But there is still much to be done on the way to investigate and identify such cases”, he noted.
According to the diplomat, everyone should be involved in the fight against such crimes. "These crimes are contrary to our values. We can solve this problem only by joint efforts. It is very important to analyze the situation. The best way to solve a problem is to find its source”, he stressed.
Jankauskas noted that the current migration crisis is a problem and creates favorable conditions for human trafficking.
