Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov has met with Brazilian Foreign Minister Carlos França as part of his visit to Latin America, Report informs, citing MFA.
The level of political dialogue between the two countries was praised at the meeting, and the importance of holding the third round of political consultations was noted. They discussed the opportunities for expanding cooperation in various fields, including agriculture, energy, culture, and humanitarian spheres, and stressed the importance of joint events to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year.
Mammadov briefed the opposition on the new political realities in the region after the war, the measures taken by Azerbaijan and large-scale projects to restore and build in the liberated territories, and the growing importance of international transport corridors through Azerbaijan.
The sides also exchanged views on cooperation between Azerbaijan and Brazil within international organizations and regional and international security issues of mutual interest.
The meeting was also attended by the Secretary-General of Foreign Affairs of Brazil Simas Magalhães and the chairman of the Brazil-Azerbaijan friendship group, member of the Chamber of Deputies Claudio Cajado.
