Elmar Mammadyarov receives Australian MPs

Baku. 9 June. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received the delegation of the Parliament of Australia, who are visiting the country. Report was sais by the press service of the Foreign Ministry.

the importance of parliamentary diplomacy for further development of bilateral relations and opportunities for cooperation in several areas were noted during the meeting. Minister Elmar Mammadyarov expressed confidence that the visit will contribute to development of relations between Azerbaijan and Australia.

Noting the events that took place in the region, Elmar Mammadyarov spoke about the negotiations on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan and stressed the importance of resolving of the conflict according to the norms and principles of international law, particularly, the internationally recognized borders and respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty of the states.

The sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
