Elchin Amirbayov discusses Baku-Yerevan peace process in US

Elchin Amirbayov, Representative of the President of Azerbaijan on special assignments, met with a number of US officials during his visit to the United States and exchanged views on the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as Baku-Washington relations, Azerbaijan’s Embassy in the US and the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the UN said in posts on X, Report informs.

“During a working visit to the US, Representative of the President of Azerbaijan on special assignments Elchin Amirbayov met with Special Assistant to the US President and Senior Director for Europe at NSC Michael Carpenter, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O’Brien, Principal DAS EUR Yuri Kim, Director, Office of Central Asian Affairs Brian Stimmler, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Laura Cooper and Senator Pete Ricketts for Nebraska. Constructive and useful discussions were held covering bilateral Azerbaijan-US agenda, current state of affairs in the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process and recent developments in the region,” reads the post of the embassy.

“Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on special assignments Mr. Elchin Amirbayov met with the representatives of prominent think tanks at the roundtable organized by USIP. Azerbaijan-US relations, current status and prospects of the ongoing Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process, regional and international security issues were discussed during the event,” the embassy stated.

“Within the framework of a working visit to New York, Mr. Elchin Amirbayov, Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on special assignments, met with Dicarlo Rosemary, UN Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (UNDPPA) and discussed the current status and prospects of the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process and recent developments in the region,” Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the UN said.
