A delegation of the Russian Federation Council has arrived on an official visit to Azerbaijan.
According to Report, the delegation is led by chairperson of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko.
During the visit she is scheduled to hold talks with Milli Majlis chairman Oqtay Asadov.
The sides will discuss the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation on a wide range of directions, issues of interparliamentary interaction on bilateral and multilateral basis.
The Russian Federation Council chief will speak at the opening of the Days of Russian culture in Azerbaijan, and visit cultural, sporting, social and infrastructural facilities in the country's capital.
The delegation also includes the vice speaker of the Federation Council, co-chairman of the Interparliamentary Commission on Cooperation of the Parliaments of the two countries Ilyas Umakhanov, deputy speaker of the Federation Council Andrey Turchak, senators and heads of the regional parliaments of the Astrakhan oblast and Daghestan.
