The Action Plan for 2022-2025 aims to strengthen cooperation between the Council of Europe and Azerbaijan, Secretary-General of the Council of Europe Marija Pejčinović Burić said at the presentation of the Plan in Baku, Report informs.
She said that this is not a new plan, similar documents are being developed by the Council of Europe as part of cooperation with other member countries of the organization as well. The current Action Plan for 2022-2025 is the third plan for Azerbaijan.
She reminded that in 2019 Azerbaijan ratified the CE Lanzarote Convention, and the Council of Europe also assisted Azerbaijan in updating law enforcement practice.
At the same time, Marija Pejčinović Burić added that the new Action Plan for 2022-2025 will also cover new areas for cooperation, namely artificial intelligence, the fight against drug trafficking and the fight against human trafficking.
The budget for the new Action Plan is 9.6 million euros.
