Correa: 'I was impressed by Azerbaijani president’s speech on French colonialism'

“I was impressed by the speech of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on French colonialism at the opening of the Ministerial Meeting of the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement in Baku,” Executive Director of the South Center Carlos Correa told Report.

He noted that the speech of the head of state was very honest and courageous.

Carlos Correa stressed that the Non-Aligned Movement needs to take active measures, apply legal sanctions in accordance with the UN Charter against countries ‘that negatively affect the majority of the world’s population.’

“NAM is a great opportunity to discuss the global agenda, it’s a very important platform,” he added.

On July 5, the Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement Coordinating Bureau themed “NAM: United and steadfast in confronting emerging challenges” kicked off at Baku Convention Center.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev addressed the meeting.
