France's migration policy against French Polynesia hinders the development of the latter's tourism potential and discourages foreign investors, said Cliff Loussan, Secretary of the Commission for Tourism and Cultural Affairs of the Assembly of French Polynesia, Report informs.
He made the remark during his speech at the conference titled "French Polynesia's right to decolonization: challenges and perspectives" at the Azerbaijani Parliament on May 30.
Loussan noted that the migration restriction has a great impact on the income of the tourism industry:
"These restrictions can affect our entire economy. Island states today face the problem of colonialism. We would like to sign security and environmental agreements with neighboring countries. We have to facilitate the arrival of tourists. The proper management of resources and the combat against climate change are important issues for our region. France deliberately keeps our country under the yoke and deprives us of economic development."
