CIS executive secretary: More attention needs to be paid to border security

In the current environment, more attention needs to be paid to border security, Chairman of the Executive Committee - Executive Secretary of the CIS Sergey Lebedev said in a message to the participants of the meeting of the Council of Commanders of the Border Troops of the CIS countries in Baku, Report informs.

Lebedev noted in his message that the modern world is witnessing the reformatting of politics and the economy, and peacekeeping efforts do not reach their goal.

The CIS executive secretary said that in many regions of the world there are threats on the borders of countries, and this is happening in the Caucasus as well. “This suggests that we must pay even more attention to protecting the borders of our countries, and do it effectively,” Lebedev added.

He noted that during today’s meeting, a plan for further activities within the border troops of the CIS countries for 2026-2030 will be developed.
