Azerbaijan in its socio-economic development pays special attention to social entrepreneurship, UNDP Deputy Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Charu Bist said at an event entitled “Social Entrepreneurship Policy in Azerbaijan: Policy and Ecosystem Recommendations to Support Social Enterprises” organized with the support of the EU and UNDP, Report informs.
She noted that social entrepreneurship is of particular importance in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“In Azerbaijan, social entrepreneurship is still at an early stage, but with sufficient funding, the country can achieve a lot in this area. I am glad that the socio-economic strategy of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026 also includes issues of the ecosystem and social entrepreneurship,” Bist said.
She noted that Azerbaijan pays special attention to this issue in its socio-economic development.
She emphasized that this event will allow discussing and developing recommendations for the development of the ecosystem and social entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan.
