Through its chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement and the successful organization of COP29, Azerbaijan has demonstrated a deep commitment to the principles of justice, inclusiveness and cooperation, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Yuksalish Movement Bobur Bekmurodov said at the opening ceremony of the founding conference of the Global South NGO Platform, Report informs.
"As President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev rightly notes, solving today's global problems requires comprehensive dialogue, respect, sovereignty and collective action. These are values that Uzbekistan fully shares and supports," he said.
According to Bekmurodov, the creation of the Global South NGO Platform is essential given the unstable situation in the modern world.
"Dialogue is the key to achieving a democratic path of development. Therefore, this platform, as a dialogue platform, is of great importance. In addition to traditional challenges, we are facing new problems, political polarization is growing, economic uncertainty. We see unhealthy propaganda and manipulation of public opinion in many societies. Thus, in conditions of instability, the role of civil society becomes even more important to maintain public order and promote peace and well-being," he added.
