Blinken on settlement of Azerbaijani-Armenian relations

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke about the settlement of Azerbaijani-Armenian relations, Report informs.

At a meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in New York, Blinken noted that in a telephone conversation with both leaders (Azerbaijan and Armenia), they declared their readiness for peace.

“Strong, sustained diplomatic engagement is the best path for everyone... But there is, I think, a path to a durable peace that resolves the differences through diplomacy. The United States is prepared to do whatever it can to support these efforts,” he added.

According to the State Department, the leaders of the countries discussed the next steps, Secretary of State Blinken called on the parties to meet again before the end of the month.

The meeting is taking place at Washington’s initiative.
