Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev for Kazakhstan’s swift rescue efforts following the AZAL plane crash near Aktau.
According to Report, which cites Akorda, Bayramov conveyed Ilham Aliyev's and the Azerbaijani people's appreciation during a meeting with the Kazakh leader as part of his visit to Astana.
The AZAL passenger plane, operating flight Baku-Grozny, crashed on December 25 near Aktau, Kazakhstan. Out of 67 people on board, 38 lost their lives, while 29 survived.
Preliminary reports suggest the crash resulted from external physical and technical impact in Russian airspace over Grozny.
