Bayramov: Peace treaty discussions with Armenia are ongoing

The prerequisite for a genuine and enduring peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia is the cessation of Armenia’s territorial claims against Azerbaijan, which are enshrined in numerous legal and political documents of this country, especially the Constitution of Armenia, which explicitly refers to the Act of Independence of Armenia calling for the “unification of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh,” Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov said at the meeting of the Foreign Ministers Council of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Shusha, Report informs.

“Azerbaijan is the most interested party in stable and sustainable peace,” he stressed.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided an insight into the current state of the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He highlighted that discussions on signing a draft bilateral agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations with Armenia are ongoing at the initiative of Azerbaijan.
