Bayramov briefs Vietnamese deputy FM on Baku-Yerevan peace process

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has discussed current issues on the regional and international agenda with Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang.

The talks took place during the visit of the Vietnamese delegation to Azerbaijan, the Foreign Ministry told Report.

Minister Bayramov informed the Vietnamese delegation in detail about the situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, large-scale restoration and construction work in the territories liberated from occupation, efforts to combat the mine threat, as well as the progress of the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The representatives of the departments discussed the current level and prospects for the development of bilateral and multilateral relations. The importance of mutual visits and contacts, including the mechanism of political consultations, for maintaining and developing the existing political dialogue was emphasized. The parties noted the broad prospects for developing cooperation in such areas as economy, trade, energy security, agriculture, humanitarian sphere, tourism, education, etc.

The importance of using existing opportunities, as well as the Azerbaijan-Vietnam Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technical Cooperation in this area, was emphasized.

During the meeting, issues of cooperation within regional and international organizations, including the UN, CICA and ASEAN, were also discussed. The importance of the historic decisions taken during the global climate conference COP29, which was held in November last year in Baku, was emphasized.
