Azerbaijani, Qatari FMs meet in Doha

On March 6, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani during his working trip to Qatar to participate in the Fifth UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5), Report informs, citing the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Azerbaijan.

The officials expressed satisfaction with the development of bilateral political relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar. They discussed prospects for further cooperation in the economic, investment, industrial, energy, transport, educational, tourism, cultural and other fields.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his Qatari colleague about the current situation in the South Caucasus, restoration work in the Azerbaijani territories liberated from occupation, and transport and communication projects being implemented in the region on the initiative and with the participation of Azerbaijan. The ministers also discussed cooperation within the framework of Azerbaijan’s Alat Free Economic Zone.

The Qatari minister noted that his country is interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan.

The parties exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest as well.
